Becoming a Baytown Babe...on my own terms!

Exciting news for the Dallas Car Wife...I just started my new company Ideal Automotive Consulting, LLC. 

We provide consulting services, analysis and temporary managerial staff to New and Used Auto Dealers to help with the transition after recent acquisition. I am completely enjoying my role as the Technology, Marketing, Advertising and "hardware/software" guru. Marcus is right along side me helping companies to put in place the best procedures to ensure our client's clients are the HAPPIEST in the world. Our goal is to make sure that our client's clients view their car buying experience as Truly Exceptional. (If I could fit in the term client's clients again, I would...I'll find a way to do that tomorrow!)

Anyway...how does Baytown, TX fit in to this equation? My current client (no, not client's client- actual client of mine) operates a New Car Dealership in Baytown, Texas. (No Link to it Yet..I have to beef up their website first and get official approval to announce it!!!)  I had never even heard of Baytown before...I only knew it was near Houston! (Score! Just an hour flight from Big D. Y'all know I won't miss my son's basketball games for any amount of $$$$.) A few weeks ago I made my first trip down there. I had a blast. The employees at the store are the friendliest bunch I've ever seen. I have to give a shout out to some companies in Baytown that gave this Dallas Car Wife a great experience:

My Mother: My Locator

"Mom! Mom! Mooooooommmm!??!.......Babe....Babe.....Honey....Where's my-?" How often do we hear these words? As moms, it seems we are often the keepers of tissues, car keys, eye glasses, wallets, kids stuff and more. Over the past few weeks I've been working with my 11 year old on him keeping track of his own basketball bag when we are at tournaments and games. This has surely been an undertaking. I can't even convince him to bring his own water bottle without me reminding him 500 times! 

He is still the sweetest boy ever. And, with Marcus about to start traveling   (he is heading to N.A.D.A. School this year), I'm having a hard time keeping up with him and all of his stuff. (*Fingers Crossed we will have our new big superstore soon!!!*)

We have scaled back our retail operation while my husband and business partner, Marcus, completes General Manager training. Our hope is to have bought or opened a New Car Franchise by 2014. Bob Stallings Auto Group has already put a store under contract. In the meantime, the Used Car Dealership needs to be smaller and more manageable. So, yes, I'm back to doing more locates.

What is a "locate"? It's me being crazy trying to take on the job of finding MORE THINGS for OTHER PEOPLE! Actually, it is fulfilling my passion for finding the best luxury or budget vehicles. When we told our VIP clients that we were not carrying cars in stock anymore most of them were disappointed. Marcus has such a passion and talent for finding the best used cars available. Even though we aren't going to keep our warehouse stocked, we are deciding to keep our resources available to the public. 

Just this week, I was contacted by an old high school friend named "Daniella" asking if I can still help with credit problems. Once we were able to submit her credit application to our Specialized Lenders, we were able to find just the car that she needed. We were able to get her approved on a late model, reputable brand with a manufacturer's warranty and less than 40k MILES! 

This is what makes us different! This is a "locate"! Sure, our specialty is Mercedes Benz AMG, BMW M Series and other unique luxury cars. But, my favorite thing to do in business is to help out friends with financial struggles. How awesome! I know that if "Daniella" went to another dealership or 'tote the note' lot, she either wouldn't be approved or her down payment would have been way too high. We were able to keep her payments around $250 with just $1,000 down!

I know some might be visiting this blog just to find out "an inside secret" of what's going on  with our new business. Marcus is in General Management training, working hard for a new manufacturer's dealership. We can't announce anything publicly other than that. In the meantime, we are still open at BobStallingsCars.com. The majority of our retail operations have stopped. But, we are still carrying a small amount of specialty cars in stock. And of course, if you read the above, we are still doing locates. All of our relationships are still in tact with lenders, banks and financial institutions. We are still ready to provide our talents to our clients! As soon as we can say more, we will!

Reinventing Your Look this Fall

Fall is just around the corner already. Most of us ladies, at least here in Texas, are thinking about transitional wardrobe pieces, hair color do's and don'ts, accessories and other fashion updates to help us look FRESH this FALL. I've compiled a few magazine and media ideas to help us all out! I'm not paid to plug any of these beauty products or clothing items. These are just some of my latest and favorite places...

 # 1. Change Your Part. Try flipping it the other way. It adds an instant oomph of volume and requires no trip to the salon! Double ++ because this a FREEbIE! Recently, I actually shopped for hair supplies in a place other than TARGET! Don't forget to venture out. I actually re-visited one of my old stand by's that I haven't patronized in years- Sally Beauty Supply. They had a multitude of hair brushes and tools on THE CHEAP!  

#2 Visit the Eyebrow Whisperer. Get the best brow shape for your face in the privacy of your own home. As seen on Bethenny Frankel's Summer Talk Show "Bethenny" the Anastasia Brow Kit comes in 5 different shades and helps even the clumsiest of women shape and perfect their eyebrows just like the stars do! 

#3 Visit High End Outlets. Last Call: Neiman Marcus and a few select others to find the latest Labels at Low Prices!  Last Call has a "Brand Boutique" where you can go directly to the list of designers and products that will be in store and online. Save hundreds or even thousands on last season's hottest handbags, belts, denim and more.

#4 Visit MAC Cosmetics. MAC is famous for always having the skinny on the sexiest and most daring looks. Go ahead and give the in store makeup artist a try. Do a full blown smokey eye or a crazy bold lip. In the worst case, you'll use up some of that old makeup remover that's hidden in the bottom bathroom drawer, at best- You'll Be Kardashian-Fabulous!

#5 Update Your Wheels. You knew this had to be coming! If you've been following my blog then you'll know I'm all about women feeling fabulous on the inside. What to Read after 50 Shades of Grey

How many times has that simple phrase been googled this summer? Once you've read all 3 books you may be left with that empty "now what" feeling....Oh my 50 Shades!

Well, I'll tell you what I've been up to- (after reading the best book series ever) I've been reading all sorts of marketing and advertising data for Dallas Used Car Dealers. I've also been up to writing a lot of descriptions for our inventory at the dealership. We are in full swing carrying 50 Shades of 50 new in stock units!

We have had a lot new changes at BobStallingsCars.com this Spring and Summer. In our first year of business we slowly went from carrying 3, 10, 15, 20, 30 and now we are up to carrying 50+ fabulous vehicles in stock at any given time. It's been a lot of work getting to know 50 new units each month. But, I'll tell you, as I research our vehicles I can say that our cars are really special. They are almost as exciting as the secret summer reading the ladies have been up to!

We have hired a new Finance Manager named EJ. He is friendly, easy to talk to and specializes in helping clients with challenged credit issues. We've signed on new lenders and financial institutions and now we can not only find low used car rates for luxury car buyers but, we can also find good rates for customers with low credit scores and income.

This summer we also hired a new Sales Manager named David. He specializes in high line cars and executive level clientele. He has been a fabulous addition to our team.

Also new in our Carrollton Used Car Dealership is Larry, our inventory manager. Larry's nickname is "Daddy" in the dealership because he literally babies all of the cars. He spots even the slightest fingerprint on a windshield and promptly cleans it off. It is fantastic to have such a great team in place at Bob Stallings Auto Group.

My dad, Bob Stallings, has been around a lot this summer. He had a fabulous idea to begin offering a FREE 90 Day Protection Plan on every qualifying vehicle in stock. He even pre-paid for the qualifying vehicle warranty. We really want our clients to be able to Buy with Confidence at our dealership. Of course, this warranty is in addition to the rigorous 25 Point Inspection that we already complete. If you ever talk with our competition- ask them if they do a free 90 day warranty or a free pre-sale inspection. I bet they'll have a lame excuse about why they don't. Talk about 50 Shades of RED!

And of course Marcus, the Dallas Car Guy, and love of my life. He has been busy keeping the dealership well stocked with the finest luxury cars in Dallas at the lowest prices. I'm astonished every week to see the high quality vehicles that he brings in. And, as I'm writing the descriptions for our website, I notice what a fantastic value we are able to offer our clientele. Forget Christian Grey! This husband of mine has it all!
